The Order of Engineers of Portugal (OEP) will host at its National Headquarters in Lisbon, on March 4th, the celebrations of World Engineering Day 2024, by organising a Conference with the theme “Energy Transition and Sustainability”, from 2:30 to 6:00 PM Lisbon Time (GMT) / 3:30 to 7:00 PM Paris Time (GMT+1), which will feature a panel of prestigious speakers.
Energy production and use are, more than ever, at the center of countries’ strategic considerations. The main objective of the event will be to encourage dialogue for the implementation of scientific research and technological development projects in the field of energy systems engineering, which support industrial transformation, innovation and the global economic structure.
In the context of growing tensions in the relationship between humans and nature, it is crucial that engineers and policymakers prioritize a balanced approach between economic progress, social justice and environmental preservation, which are fundamental to a country’s energy security.
