The World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO), in partnership with the Institution of Engineers Indonesia (PII), has the pleasure to invite you to the 2026 main global celebration of the World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development (WED 2026), to be held in Jakarta, Indonesia, from 3 to 5 March 2026. This flagship in‑person event is organized with the support of UNESCO under the theme “Smart Engineering for a Sustainable Future Through Innovation and Digitalization”. The theme highlights the essential role of engineering in advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, with particular emphasis on SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure.

On this occasion, an international conference scheduled for 4 and 5 March 2026 will bring together ministers and senior government officials, heads of international and regional organizations, leaders of multilateral development institutions, executives from industry and the financial sector, academic and research leaders, as well as representatives of the global science and engineering community. Discussions will focus on priority issues related to innovation, digitalization and the development of sustainable and resilient infrastructure.
