Rethinking the future of the world through a secured, clean and efficient energy
WEC Central and Eastern Europe Regional Energy Forum – FOREN 2024, organized under the patronage of the World Energy Council (WEC) and the Ministry of Energy of Romania, is at its 17th edition and it is already considered an event with a solid tradition and an outstanding reputation in the 100-year history of energy. For the energy community in Romania, the Forum is the most important and representative event in the field, organized in even years. Also, FOREN has the status of a WEC regional event for Central and Eastern Europe.
The Forum’s programme will include over 20 events with up-to-date issues at national and international level: 4 sessions of technical papers, 9 main events (Regional Energy Day, Round Tables at Forum level; workshops at Forum level); Round Tables at corporate level; an international exhibition with more than 20 booths.
The main topics within FOREN 2024 are the following:
- A just Energy Transition in CEE Countries
- Adapting the energy sectors of countries in the region to the new challenges
- Energy strategies to decarbonise the energy system
- Specific issues on the use of fossil fuels and biofuels in the energy transition
- Energy efficiency, smart consumption and prosumer integration: innovations for future

- New technologies in energy transition
- The impact of artificial intelligence energy management in the coming decade
- The role of nuclear energy in the CEE area
The forum is supported by energy, oil, natural gas and coal companies, suppliers of energy equipment and services, as well as representative governmental and non-governmental institutions in Romania and abroad.
Among the participants of the event, there are government authorities, managers and decision-makers of the most important companies and organizations, well-known and appreciated specialists in the energy field in Romania and abroad.
