DESCRIPTION:As part of its 2024-2025 work programme\, the Committee on Energy of the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO-CE) invites you to take part in a webinar on: \nElectricity Access Gaps and Policy Recommendations  \nMonday 27 January 2025 \nfrom 2 to 3 pm CET via Zoom \n➡️ Speaker: Abubakar Sambo\, Professor Emeritus\, Vice-Chair for Africa and Chair of the Electrification Task Group\n➡️ Moderator: Marie-Line Vaiani\, Chair of the Committee on Energy and Secretary General of the Conseil Français de l’Énergie – World Energy Council France \nAbubakar Sani Sambo\, a Professor of Mechanical Engineering (Energy Studies) at Usmanu Danfodiyo University\, Sokoto\, is the President-Elect of The Nigerian Academy of Science. He is the Chairman of the Nigerian Member Committee of the Conseil mondial de l’énergie (CME). He has previously served as Vice-Chancellor of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University\, Bauchi; Vice-Chancellor of Kaduna State University; Director-General of Energy Commission of Nigeria ​(ECN) and Special Adviser to the President on Energy. He has a First Class Honours B.Eng degree from A.B.U. Zaria and a D.Phil degree from the University of Sussex (UK) both in Mechanical Engineering. He has written numerous articles on renewable energy\, energy planning and appropriate technology. After formally retiring from Usmanu Danfodiyo University\, the institution honoured him with the Professor Emeritus appointment in April 2024.
