DESCRIPTION:From October 3-6\, 2023\, the Kazakhstan Energy Week – 2023 (KEW-2023) / XV Eurasian Forum KAZENERGY will take place at the EXPO Congress Center in Astana. The event will traditionally bring together several major events in the energy and oil and gas industries and will become the most significant in the Central Asian region. \nThe XV Eurasian Forum KAZENERGY\, organized by the KAZENERGY Association since 2006\, represents the main international event of the energy sector in the Caspian and Central Asian regions. The KAZENERGY Forum traditionally attracts the interest of governments of world countries\, international energy organizations\, diplomatic representatives\, Kazakhstani and foreign companies in the energy sector\, research institutes\, and consulting agencies. The event attracts more than 2\,500 delegates from over 300 companies representing more than 50 countries worldwide. For many years\, influential political figures and recognized experts with a worldwide reputation have been guests of the Forum. \nIn 2023\, the Forum is traditionally held with the support of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan\, represented by the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan\, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan\, and other interested government agencies.

SUMMARY:Reaching carbon neutrality by understanding the future energy demand
DESCRIPTION:Reaching Carbon Neutrality by understanding future Energy Consumption (demands) \nFocus on 5 major European countries. \nEuropean countries commit at national and collective levels to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. \nThe analysis of energy demand trajectories is essential to understand how and when to achieve this carbon neutrality. Indeed\, sectoral energy demand is the first driver which brings together the measures of Sufficiency\, Energy Efficiency\, and part of Decarbonisation. \nThis is the reason why Enerdata runs each year a detailed modelling of sectorial energy consumption by using stat-of-the-art algorithms and analysing past trends and main European policies such as Fitfor55 or REPowerEU\, as well as long term national strategies\, and technology developments. \nCarbon neutrality has become a common objective\, and five questions arise:\n• Are we currently witnessing a structural break towards carbon neutrality?\n• Was the gas and electricity demand limitation during the last winter sufficient?\n• Are Heat pumps and electric vehicles actual game changers?\n• Are the European investment projects to transform the steel sector facts or promises?\n• What are the impacts of ambitious targets on the energy demand until 2050? \nTo answer these questions\, our experts will leverage the two new scenarios from Enerdata: « Toward Net Zero » and « Objectives delayed ».
